Hyperproof’s AI core tenets
Security and privacy at the center
Security and privacy are not add-ons. They’re foundational to what we do. From day one of any AI initiative, and with every meaningful update, protections are built in and documented with evidence.
Full transparency and explained results
We strive to make AI outcomes as understandable as possible. We take reasonable steps to explain results and provide transparency into how those results are generated so trust is earned, not assumed.
AI with human oversight
AI is powerful, but not infallible. Each project includes practical plans to evaluate the likelihood and impact of errors. Where stakes are high, human-in-the-loop review ensures oversight and accountability.
Protect customers, protect trust
Every use of AI within Hyperproof is guided by a simple principle: protect customers, protect trust. We proactively assess potential risks of harm before projects move forward and design safeguards to prevent negative outcomes.
Risk management and data governance
Data is the backbone of AI, and it must be governed responsibly. We define what data is being used, establish guardrails to control access, and plan for the risks of both inputs and outputs.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get access to Hyperproof AI?
Customers can get access to Hyperproof AI features through our AI Early Access Program. To join, contact your Hyperproof Sales or Customer Success representative. Once AI features are released for general availability, they will be enabled by default in the Hyperproof platform, with the option for organizations to opt out.
Is my data secure with Hyperproof AI?
Yes. Hyperproof AI runs entirely inside our secure Microsoft Azure environment. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), and AI features inherit the same SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 controls as the rest of the Hyperproof platform.
Can I turn off or opt out of Hyperproof AI features?
Yes. Organizations can opt out of Hyperproof AI at the tenant level. We do not currently provide a per-feature opt-out.
How does Hyperproof AI work with my existing GRC programs and processes?
Hyperproof AI enhances, but does not replace, your existing programs and processes. It provides decision support to make work faster and easier, while keeping all controls, evidence, and workflows governed by the same permissions, logging, and review processes you already use in Hyperproof.
How do you secure data in transit and at rest?
All data processed by Hyperproof AI is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2+ and at rest with AES-256 encryption, consistent with Hyperproof’s broader security program.
Do you process or store sensitive data in your AI pipelines?
Yes. Hyperproof AI may process sensitive customer data (such as compliance evidence, policies, or risks) that you upload into your tenant. This data is only used at inference time, is permissioned by your role-based access controls, and is not stored outside your Hyperproof environment.
Where is your data processing and hosting located?
All Hyperproof AI processing takes place within the same Microsoft Azure region as your Hyperproof services. For example, EU-hosted tenants process AI data in the EU.
Do you detect and mitigate bias in your AI features?
Hyperproof AI is designed for governance, risk, and compliance tasks and does not infer sensitive traits or demographics. We monitor outputs for relevance and quality, and features are always subject to human review and approval before application. Hyperproof AI builds on Azure OpenAI capabilities, which conform to Microsoft’s Responsible AI Standard.
Can I limit or restrict the data shared with Hyperproof AI?
Yes. Administrators can opt out of all AI features. Within the platform, Hyperproof AI only processes data that users are already permitted to view. Data minimization techniques are applied to ensure only necessary text or metadata is shared with the model.
How do you validate the accuracy and reliability of your AI outputs?
All AI features are tested against curated data before release. In production, we monitor accuracy, error rates, and customer feedback to ensure optimal performance. AI outputs are always presented for human review before they can be applied, ensuring a human remains the final decision-maker.
What kind of monitoring and logging is in place for Hyperproof AI features?
AI-assisted actions are recorded in the standard activity feed and attributed to the user who authorized them, with timestamps and relevant context (e.g., affected objects). Hyperproof monitors AI features for health and errors as part of our normal production monitoring.
Do you use my data, inputs, and/or outputs to train Hyperproof AI?
No. Hyperproof does not use customer data to train or fine-tune AI models. Your data is used only at inference time to generate a response or suggestion.
What data is being used, exposed, and processed with Hyperproof AI?
Hyperproof AI only processes tenant data that the signed-in user is permitted to access. There are two ways data is used:
On-demand features (e.g. agentic search): When a user asks a question, Hyperproof retrieves the minimum necessary passages from permitted records and sends only those snippets to the model to generate a response.
Background features (e.g., Proof Summaries): Hyperproof automatically extracts text from newly uploaded evidence to create a short, searchable summary. Only the extracted text needed to produce the summary is sent to the model; the original file remains in your tenant storage. Summaries are stored in your tenant and respect the same role-based access controls.
In all cases, data is processed inside Hyperproof’s Azure environment, never used to train AI models.
Does Hyperproof AI use customer data to train its services?
No. Neither Hyperproof nor our subprocessors use your data to train or fine-tune AI models.
Is any data used with Hyperproof AI transferred outside of Hyperproof?
No. Data used with Hyperproof AI remains within Hyperproof’s controlled cloud environment (our Microsoft Azure tenancy) and approved subprocessors. Hyperproof AI uses Microsoft AI services within Azure; no additional subprocessors are introduced beyond those on our published list. Data is not sent to public consumer AI services and is not used to train models. Microsoft may retain prompts/outputs for up to 30 days solely for abuse monitoring.
Does Hyperproof AI impact my compliance with GDPR?
No. Hyperproof remains your data processor, and AI features operate under the same Data Processing Addendum and regional data residency commitments as the rest of Hyperproof. Customers, as data controllers, remain responsible for ensuring a lawful basis for processing personal data they upload.
